South Pond
The southern pond was an actual pond with open water just two years ago (2013). According to the sign, the natural plant life helps filter the water. While that's really great, in fact this is now more of a marsh. Maybe that's good for water quality but it sure does reduce the enjoyment of a water view. Some new photos were taken in October 2019 and are on the right. The pond had a build up of muck reducing the actual water to inches, maybe a couple of feet. The green slime on the surface is duckweed.
